Cheyenne Drury is a first-semester staff writer for the Current. She is a descendant of the Native tribe Lakota Sioux and enjoys running, cycling, and swimming . She is also on staff at the American River Review, a literary magazine produced by American River College. She writes free-verse poetry as well as edits other's.

Lucid dreams again

Folsom Lake College student Julia Flippo works on her close up chalk profile of a young girl at Chalk It Ups 25th annual art festival Labor Day Weekend in Fremont park, downtown Sacramento. Flippo placed second in The Peoples Choice, an award that all artists who rent out a sidewalk space are contenders for.
