The American River College men’s baseball team was swept in a three-game series against West Valley College to begin the season at home on Jan. 31.

The final score was 10-5.

While the team started the season off with a three-game losing streak, there are some positive takeaways.

Left Fielder Christian Restori made two impressive catches, which includes one that prevented two runs from scoring, later in the bottom of the inning he reached base on an infield single.

Third baseman Evan Rice, who came in as a defensive replacement, had a multi-hit game, going 2-3, with an RBI and scoring a run.

Game one was a blowout, with a score of 19-6, and game two went 11 innings with a final score of 3-2.

The first and third games were held at ARC, while the second game of the series was held at WVC’s temporary home park at Mission College in Santa Clara.

Members of the baseball team, as well as its coaching staff, declined to speak to the Current following the game.
