A deceased individual was discovered and reported near American River College, during the evening hours of April 22, according to Kaitlyn Collignon, ARC’s public information officer.

The incident happened outside of the campus, according to Sergeant Mike Olson of the Los Rios Police Department.

“A deceased individual was discovered outside the fencing of the Myrtle West parking lot at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and College Oak Drive,” Olson said.

According to Collignon, the Sacramento Sheriff Department and LRPD responded to the call.

“There does not seem to be any indication of foul play,” Collignon said in an email to the Current. “We do not believe this person has any affiliation with the campus.”

According to Collignon, the safety of campus is not a concern at this time.

The individual has yet to be identified according to the Sacramento county coroner’s office.

Any further details will come from the Sacramento coroner’s report.
