After American River College experienced a campus-wide internet outage on Feb. 8, the network was finally repaired, according to a notification issued to staff and students by the college at 5:14 p.m., Monday.
In-person classes are set to return on-ground Tuesday, Feb. 10; however, some student services will continue remotely until Wednesday, Feb. 11, according to an email to faculty from ARC president Lisa Cardoza.
In the email, Cardoza emphasized the importance of the decision to move classes remotely while assessing the effects and implementing repairs to the network.
“Today’s emergency move to remote instruction and services was implemented because of the unexpected, campus-wide network outage.” Cardoza wrote. “Due to the critical nature of network connectivity for the everyday functions of our campus, we needed time to assess impacts to class, campus access and operations, and student services, while IT worked urgently to implement a repair.”
