Emily Mello is in her fourth semester with the Current and her third semester as Photo Editor. Mello is a mass communication/journalism major and hopes to transfer to a four-year college to finish her education back in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mello hopes to pursue a career in sports since she is a huge fan of soccer and sports in general.

EMT program at ARC still on campus, deals with new adaptations

American River College started construction on its Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) building in 2018. Now, after nearly two years, construction crews completed the building in August, according to Michael Klingman, Flint Project Manager. Klingman adds that there are still fill adjustments that need to be made on the inside of the building. “We’re still working through the punch and commissioning items,” Kingman said. The facility was scheduled to open at the start of the fall semester, but with all the COVID-19 setbacks, the opening of the new STEM building has been postponed until further notice. I think it is overrated because we go through this every other year, there is always some type of virus or disease, and it always passes.
