The American River College women’s and men’s basketball teams will be donating the proceeds from Friday’s doubleheader against Sierra College to Marc Zhuchenko’s memorial fund.

Marc Zhuchenko was the 22-year-old former ARC student and employee killed during an attempted robbery on January 9 at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Sacramento, where he was working.

Zuchenko had previously worked in the Dusty Baker Student Athlete Resource Center on campus. The money collected from both ticket and concession sales will go to the memorial fund set up by Zhuchenko’s family.

The women’s basketball game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm Friday in the Hutchinson Gymnasium on campus and will be followed by the men’s game at 7:30 pm.

Those who can’t stay for the games can make donations at the concession stand. Donations can also be made by calling the Golden One Credit Union at 916-723-2900.
