On April 22, a Sacramento judge approved a permanent restraining order against Jamie Barnes. Barnes allegedly made racist threats to American River College President Melanie Dixon, according to the Los Rios Police Department.

The restraining order states that Barnes is prohibited from entering any Los Rios campuses or making contact with any Los Rios employees.

The district will share the restraining order to provide transparency with the Los Rios Community. The order will be made available to the public on May 1, according to the statement.

“We are thankful the judge approved this permanent order, which is one of the strongest legal actions we can take,” according to the LRPD’s statement. “We will continue to advocate for maximum consequences for this individual.”

LRPD added that while it has no proof that Barnes has been to any of the Los Rios campuses, it is sharing Barnes’ picture and advised anyone who sees her to please contact LRPD at 916-558-2221 immediately.
