The Journalism Association of Community Colleges announced the winners of the 2012 competition Saturday, Sept 22. The American River Current won 15 awards in the mail-in competition, including:
- Newspaper General Excellence
- Enterprise Story/Series- Trevor Horn, Senior Staff Writer
- Front Page Layout- Steven Condemarin and Andrew Vasquez
- Inside Page Layout
- Sports Action Photo- Bryce Fraser
- Profile Feature Story- Carla Manes
- Sports Game Story- Trevor Horn
