Darryl Glass, an artist and vendor, lights incense in front of his friends’ booth at the last day of the Winter Fair Gift Market in front of the Student Center at American River College on Dec. 6. He sells smudge bundles made of lavender, sage, mudwort, and yarrow he grows in his yard, and feathers from his hens and turkeys. “I like to live off the land and I like to show people truly what mother nature provides us is beauty, and the healing aspect so that’s why I do it,” Glass said. “To make people happy, to heal them, nurture them, cleanse whatever negative energies that are around them.”
