“According to U.S. Department of Labor, the job openings filled by the program will help to reduce the number of H-1B visas issued.”

That would be nice, though no one should be so deceived. The H-1B visa program is the product of heavy corporate lobbying and government placing moneyed interests before the nation and citizens.

Indeed, guest worker programs e.g. H-1, L-1, OPT, etc. are prime examples of policy supposedly representing the welfare of citizens while in fact being used to their severe disadvantage.

Otherwise, thank you for a well-written article.
